Austin Warehouse Information:
The 23,552 sq. ft. warehouse building is located at the corner of San Jacinto Bouleard and East 3rd Street, two blocks east of Austin's Warehouse District and directly west of the Austin Convention Center.
In June 2000, during the height of the .com boom, it was announced that TechSpace, LLC was expected to sign a lease for the two buildings on the property. It is unclear whether TechSpace ever occupied the building.
Austin native designer Joel Mozersky designed in the interior of the building for the filming of the series. He was able to develop a full concept of his idea for the building in one week. After presenting his ideas to the President of Bunim-Murray Productions, construction of the interior from rough space to "ready for televison" took three and a half weeks. There were 44 discretely placed cameras mounted inside the building. Although the warehouse building is more than 20,000 square feet, only 8,000 square feet was renovated for the filming of the series.
After the filming of the series ended, the building was completely gutted. The west side of the building, which was renovated for the filming of the series, was leased to Rio Grande Mexican Restaurant, a Colorado-based restaurant. The east side of the building was leased to Thomas Reprographics, a Dallas-based printing services company.
